Riverman Rod: is a Contemporary Folk Roots musician who crosses between various Folk genres such as Folk, Roots & Blues.
Albums: “Cradled in the Cairngorms” is an album of original material about people, places and culture of Scotland along with a few traditional songs re-arranged. All instruments played and recorded & produced by RR.
Recently the focus has been on putting together a solo performance combining many years of various musical influences into his new set list for guitar staged performance.
Bands; Blues bands to brass bands playing horn & tenor sax, folk rock duo’s with guitars and vocals, eclectic Celtic bands with various instruments and solo performance with folk/roots songs and singer songwriter material pulled from previous musical experience.
Instruments: Guitars; 12 string, 6 string, Dobro Resonator & electric, Harmonica, also Mandolin, Bohdran, Trumpet & Tenor Sax, whistles, Cittern, mandola and percussion.
Finger style acoustic guitarist : playing Roots music to include Slide, finger picking Blues & Folk Rock along with instrumental arrangements are part of his set list.
Contemporary songwriting ; Crosses from modern folk roots songs to folk blues/jazz.
